I did it :)

Squeezed one last finish into 2015 :)

Lizzie Kate's Special Edition kit 2007.

Sara Basil is a Dimples Design's chart, I have no idea if it's still available tho as mine was a PHD for over 10 years!

With a mere 6 minutes to 2016 I want to wish you all a Happy New Year and may it be a happy and craft filled year for you

Festive finishes

Strictly speaking they aren't festive finishes but projects I finished over Christmas.

First is Winter Box from Shepherds Bush, you all know what a sucker I am for a snowman.
He was started and finished on Christmas Day

And then there's Basil :)
I finished him off on Boxing Day because I've been doing the back stitch as I go it only took me a few hours to finish.
Please excuse the wrinkles

I might be able to squeeze another finish in tomorrow to end the year off but I'll have to see how it goes

Skill swap

A few weeks back on Needlecraft Haven  I asked if anyone would be interested in doing a skill swap with me, I had a small kit for a knitted penguin and while I can knit felt this was beyond me!
Julie very kindly said she would knit him up for me and here he is :)

Teejay was over the moon with him at the wedding and he's now called Dan

This is the ornament I sent to Julie in exchange, designed by a beading friend a few years ago and I've been looking for an excuse to make it :)
I'm happy to say that Julie loves it

Crafty gifts

Dec 23 my nephew got married and as they are expecting a baby in the new year they asked for things for the baby as wedding presents so I made a taggie blanket, it's far from perfect but for a first try I'm happy with it and the baby won't care :)

I gave my SIL a carrier bag holder for Christmas while we were there for the wedding

My Mum's Christmas present (I did frame it)

And this was a joint gift to Clare from Julie, Angie, Gill and myself, I also included a Christmas pud which you can see a pic of on Clare's tree if you follow the link

I also made a bookmark for fella but the picture I took was awful so I'll have to try again at som epoint

Almost there

The last dome is stitched so I just have to finish the back stitch and another UFO will be completed :)
I have done a bit of it already and should be able to do the rest of it on Saturday

Tribal Dragonfly finished

As promised yesterday the piccie of the completed Tribal Dragonfly from Sparklies :)

I fell in love with this at the Harrogate Knitting and Stitching show at the end of November when I helped man the stand for the day.
It was a joy to stitch and I loved the Paintbox silks that Kate used in the kit, they were a delight to stitch with and I was so impressed I'm planning on using them on my Jan 1st start if I can get them sorted in time!

Last week's progress

First up is Plum Street Samplers 12 Days after last Friday.
I'll be working on this all the time now that I've finished the Dragonfly (piccie tomorrow) and should finish it by the end of the year.

And St Basil's.
I have one dome left to stitch and the back stitch to finish so it might be done this weekend esp since it's not the weekend I'll be spending with my fella and I have no other plans so can sit and stitch all day if I choose

TUSAL time

I'm late again for the Totally Useless Stitch A Long  but it's here now :)

Since last month's post I've added orts from Fruit, St Basil's, 12 Days, Tribal Dragonfly and lots of sewing thread from hexies

And my beading orts, lots of black because I had to frog :( and lots of grey under it from the ornaments

A finish and progress

The finish is Lucy's annual bookmark, this year I went with a Dr Who theme for her instead of a skull.
I was looking for a skull that I could live with making for her here and came across Dr who instead and went with it.
In case you can't figure out what it is it's the time warp

And progress upto Thursday night on the Tribal Dragonfly

Baubles

We had our annual Krampus evening on Friday night which meant the Christmas ornaments I make each year were handed out.  This year everyone got a bauble, all the patterns are from Threadabead

Fella's

Lucy's

Mel's

My Parents

We had a lovely evening right up until we were getting in the car to leave.
My Dad and I were already in the car and Fella was strapping Teejay into his seat when a guy hit the open door :(
Thankfully Fella wasn't hurt but the door is damaged and won't shut without a bit of brute force :(  so now I have the long fight to get it fixed because although he admitted it was his fault to his Insurance company they are arguing it

Puddings

I made more Christmas puddings last week to donate as raffle prizes locally.
I love making these they are quick and easy to do but very effective and popular as a prize

November progress and December goals

For November I said
Keep up hexie flower production and hit halfway sent on the Christmas petal swap  I've made plenty of flowers but not done so well with the CPS, the huge upheaval there didn't help
Finish the page I'm on with the fruit, it's the page with most on it    Not quite there
Get St Basil's almost finished   I think another couple of weekends and I'll be done :)
Catch up with the 12 days SAL   Nop, only just finished second day :(
Keep selling stash  A few things have gone to new homes
Post every day for National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo)  I have 30 posts up

For December I'd like to
Finished St Basil's
Make more hexie flowers and snowflakes
Add to my hexie flower quilt
Finish at least one other project
Sell more stash

I stitched for 83 hours 20 minutes in November, had 1 new start and 1 finish and 1 day of no stitching but I did spend that day on hexies :)

Current PHD total = 28

Progress and a new start

Progress from the weekend on St Basils, not much this time with being out all day Saturday but I'm pretty sure I'll be finished by the end of the year

Sparklies launched a new Tribal design at Harrogate and one had to come home with me :)
I really couldn't resist it and made a start today

12 days progress

I didn't have much time to stitch on Friday so not a lot of progress was made but any progress is good :)

Another snowflake

It's been a long tiring day today, my annual trip to Harrogate Knitting and Stitching show to help Kate out on her stand so a quick post this evening of the latest snowflake to arrive before I have an early night

Balloon number 4

Black and red this time and they are all done now :)
I'm looking forward to finding out how they went down with my friends grandson's after Christmas

While looking for the links to the other 3 I discovered that I never posted a piccie of number 2 :(
so here it is

You can see the other 2  here and  here

Fruit progress

Another boring flower is done

Another snowflake

The postman brought me another snowflake today :)
Rosie decided to sit in the way as I went to put it down for a pic so I did it anyway the bonus being that you get to see her again today

Rosie

Something unrelated to craft today :)

Unless you count sleeping on my lap as I stitch :)

St Basil progress

Here's my weekend progress on Basil.

I know it's a flat piece of work and when I'm stitching on it I never notice just how round and 3D the towers look but when I take a piccie I see it clearly, does anyone else?

More snowflakes

The other 3 I have received so far.
They do interlock but one of the others has outlined her's in white before sewing them together and I quite like that idea so I'm undecided as yet what I'll do

12 days SAL

I didn't post a progress piccie of this one last week because it wasn't worth the effort!
All I managed to add to it last week were the lines around First day :(  but this week I got Second day almost finished, yay me

Fruit progress

Here's how I got on this week with the fruit, quite pleased with the progress :)
It's surprising just how much more I can get done when I'm not out 3 evenings a week bowling.

I don't think I'll quite manage to finish the page by the end of the month but I won't be far off but you never know

Hexie snowflakes

Another swap I signed up for on Facebook.
This time it's for snowflakes in blue & white fabric, they are also 1" sides but this one is a UK only swap and there are only about 20 of us

The first 3

Hexie quilt

I've started putting together my hexie quilt from the swap I'm doing on facebook, not quite sure if it's going to be a single quilt size or a lap quilt.

So far I've received 96 flowers from all over the globe, mostly from the US but a few have come from Australia and the butterfly one in the pic is from about 15 miles away :)

Weekend progress

I'm very pleased with the amount of progress St Basil's saw this last weekend, the end is in sight :)

Monday, November 16, 2015

Fruit progress

Not much progress last week between running back and to to the vets and stitching white/cream on white which I really didn't like but today I've already surrounded the flower with leaves so you'll be able to see it better next time

And a useless bit of info for you all....... today is my 25th wedding anniversary although we have been separated for the last 9 of them

Late TUSAL

I'm double late posting today :(
The TUSAL should of been posted a few days ago and it's gone midnight again but this time it's my own fault as I got distracted moving pics around on facebook.

So since the last TUSAL post I've added orts from Fruit, Magical Night, St Basils, Sewing Machine and 12 Days SAL along with plenty of sewing thread from hexies

It looks like I've not added to this one but I have and it's something other than white :)  hopefully next time there will be more colour in it

Raffle prize

I've been to the bi-annual Needlecraft Haven meet up today and apart from the rain had a lovely day.
Every time we meet a raffle is held, the money raised keeps the board ad free for a while and those that go donate a raffle prize or two.
This was mine this today a little Christmas Pudding and it was the first to be picked :)

I did it again :(

The antics of a facebook group admin for the hexie swap had me distracted and I didn't realise the time so I'm late again with a post :(

Not what I was going to post today but never mind.
This is another one of the kits I made up for Mum's friend

Poorly Rosie

Over the weekend Rosie wasn't well so I took to the vets on Tuesday who diagnosed Pyometra
Yesterday she went back for her op and she's doing well now, much more her normal self this evening and wanting lots of cuddles which makes doing any sort of craft difficult but that's fine with me.

This was a few minutes after we got home when she was still a bit grumpy but the bandage needed to come off

Her first experience of the cone last night when I went to bed, she only has to wear when I can't keep an eye on her to stop her taking the stitches out
