Psy-cat-ic

My latest beading finish is Psy-cat-ic from A Muse Ink

If your a friend on Facebook you may remember me complaining about a pattern I was working on a month or so ago saying that the pattern was totally different to the pic on the front.  I'd emailed them about it and not got a reply so I emailed again with even more difference's and got a reply, both thought the other had replied first time round lol.
Anyway they fixed the chart and sent me a replacement within a few days and once it arrived it took me a little while to get round to finishing it off.

Poor guy had a post it over his face while I worked the top of his head so he wasn't staring at me having the chart do that was bad enough!

IHSW report

I remembered to sign up for IHSW this month, yay me.

Not as much progress as in previous weekend but I found it hard to settle to anything most of the weekend for some reason, no clue what but I did make progress as you can see.
I should finish the border this coming weekend then I'm on to the very best bit, the TW

Beading finishes

I splashed out on some patterns recently from Threadabead and here's the first one completed.
One is going to my bowls captain who has retired this year from the job and she has spent the last couple of years training up yours truly who has been dumb enough to take over!
The other is the first of many that I'm doing on behalf of a friend who is having a stall on Charity market in a couple of months time.

I came across the pattern for a thimble at The Bead Loom Gallery when looking for 2 drop peyote patterns to take part in a bead a long and fell in love with them.
I bought one pattern and discovered that I didn't have the right size rivoli for it :(  because my fingers were itching to make one I just had to go back and buy another pattern that would use one of the one's I had.
I can see more of these in my future

Santa's Village progress

This last week was Santa's village week and here's how far I got.
At the start of the week I'd hoped to get the Stocking Store finished but I've had a couple of days of not being able to settle to anything so I didn't quite make it.

The chest infection has gone (yay) but it's triggered asthma that hasn't been a issue for 20 years (boo) so I've got new meds to deal with that and get it under control and hopefully when I go back in a few weeks time we can start getting me off them.

Weekend progress

There won't always be a beading project on a weekend but as I reached the end of my desire to work on the robe for the time being and it was mid morning today I thought I'd add it.

And my progress on Legends.
I got Majesty's name done and finished his border then made a start on finishing the border top and bottom on Magic.  The bottom is done as far as it could be without moving the frame to allow me a full length of thread and the top just needs a little more backstitch doing to finish that off.

Health wise I'm slowly starting to see some improvements now, I'm not getting as out of breath when I do stuff and it's not so hard to breathe all the time but the steroids are having a bad effect on my sleep :(

Couple of beading updates

I'm still not well :(  while I feel fairly OK in myself I'm still struggling to breathe at times esp in the afternoons so I'm still making good progress on things.

Today my Dragon Robe got some attention, last time it appeared here it looked like this and no I didn't do all the progress today I just haven't taken a pic of it for so long.
Today I worked from the gold up apart from the first couple of rows with gold in them

It would appear that it's getting on for 18 months since I last shared progress on my beaded CdC.
It's not been touched for a few weeks again but it kinda jumped in my hands and demanded I take a pic of it after I'd done the Dragon Robe one.
I'm plodding on to being half done :)

Tassel Finish

Feel free to Happy Dance, I don't have the energy to

Restarted on Aug 28 and finished around 10 am today my Purple Tassel.
I felt this one needed a nice simple finish so that exactly what I did

The top needed a little something to finish it off so I added a ring of 3mm facets

And just a nice simple drop effect round the bottom half with 6 mm, 4 mm, 3 mm facets and the same delica as the diamond to break it up a little

Weekend progress

This being sick lark is doing wonders for my stitching and beading but my house is mess and hasn't been cleaned in almost 3 weeks! Kinda hard to do housework when even simple tasks wear you out and walking upstairs is done as little as poss because resting on your bed when you do is an absolute must

Anyway on to my progress from the weekend :)
I finished Majesty late (ish) Sunday evening so there is just the name block to go which I should get done this weekend esp as it's looking like I won't be going to the wedding I've been invited to :(

And an overall view just in case you forgot what it looks like so far or are new to my blog (in which case welcome)

I want to say a huge thank you to those of you that have offered to send me some of the missing krenick to finish the block off, it's very much appreciated but not needed.  Turns out I misread a symbol and thought I needed it to finish Majesty but I didn't so Thank You to you all, stitchers are wonderful people :)

PS it's still missing, Rosie will dig it out in a few weeks time just like she has the sweet wrapper she pinched a while ago!

T updates

I'm getting really close to finishing the top of the tassel off and tomorrow I more than likely will do just that then I have to decide what to do with the bottom of it.  I have a few ideas but don't know which one my needle will go with when it comes down to it!

And my toms are getting bigger, that one in the middle of the bunch was the first one out and is much bigger than it appears in the pic
This morning when I took it I had a quick count up and there are at least 28 tomes of various sizes now for someone that has never grown toms before I think that's pretty good going.

Tassel progress

Way back in 2011 I took a class to make a tassel and bought the one the tutor was making to show us how to do it.

In June last year I shared a progress pic of that tassel.

Last week I pulled it out having decided that it was about time I finished it off and undid everything I'd done and restarted it.

This is how it looked a couple of days ago

I was never very happy with the stripes I went with and at the time I had it stuck in my head that I had to have a colour between each diamond like the first one and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work that way.
When I picked it up last week it struck me that I don't have to have a 'pathway' colour and that it would work quite well enough without one.
I played around on the beading software and finally settled on a combo for it then once I started it changed it again to what you see above.

I'm much, much happier with it now and it looks so much brighter than the stripes did even tho I've used the same colours, well 4 of them anyway.

Updates

Last week's progress on Firefly Fairies.
I'm fed up with green already and wish I could wave a magic wand it be finished and waiting for me to stitch the last project and so I can send them all back

And my weekend progress on Legends.
Rosie has a thing for reels of Krenick and at some point I've left the box with the floss in open and she's pinched one of the reels so until it turns up I won't be able to finish this block but it's going to be a couple of weeks at least before I get to that point thank goodness I really don't fancy spend £4 on a new reel for a few stitches!

Yesterday Stephie asked what a PHD is and rather than reply privately as no doubt others are wondering I thought I'd answer here.
A PHD is either a Project Half Done or a Potential Happy Dance which ever suits you personally mine are all potential happy dances

August progress & September goals

For August I said
Get one Fairy stitched as far as only needing the beads  No, but it is well under way
Start and Finish Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop  Started but not finished
Pick my new weekend project Done and good progress made
Get my fabric and thread sorted for the Dear Jane quilt I'm starting on Sept 1st  Done

For September I'd like to
Get one Fairy stitched as far as only needing the beads
Finish Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop
Start and finish Santa's Stocking Store
Finish Majesty and start Wisdom on Legends

I had 73 hours 17 minutes of stitching time in August, 1 new start and no finishes and 2 days of no stitching but the chances are I did bead or knit on those days.

Current PHD total =32
